How every post gets made.

Pro craft, sustainable pace. Every post built to a real-creator standard — but ~2–3 a week off the backlog, not a daily grind. The edge isn't out-posting people; it's the diving and the honest, real-person voice. Lean there every time.

The non-negotiables

Hook in the first second. A visual that stops the thumb + on-screen text that makes a promise. No slow intros, no logo openers. The first 3 seconds decide the reach.
Built for retention. Every clip must earn the next one. Cut tight, no dead air. If a second is boring, delete it.
Reels for reach, carousels for saves. Default to Reels. Use carousels only for guides/itineraries people will save and screenshot.
On-screen text always. Most people watch on mute. The story has to read with the sound off.
Trending audio early. Use rising sounds for travel/life and sharing posts. Original/ambient sound only for cinematic dive footage.
Caption does a job. Hook line first, value in the middle, one clear ask at the end. Detail lives here; the video stays punchy.
First hour matters. Reply to every comment, share to story, engage back. Early signals tell the algorithm to push it.
Consistency beats perfection. A good post on time beats a perfect post next month. Ship it.

The Reel formula

0–1s
HookThe thumb-stopper: best visual + a promise or a question on screen. "Nobody tells you this about your first dive…"
1–3s
Set-upOne line of context so they know what they're watching and why to stay.
3–20s
PayoffDeliver the promise — the dive, the tip, the verdict, the place. Tight cuts on the beat.
last 2s
CTA + loopOne ask ("save this", "where next? ๐Ÿ‘‡") and, where it fits, an ending that loops back to the start so it replays.

How each pillar is cut

Dive · footage

  • No talking. Sound design + ambient + a building track
  • Slow-mo on the one magic moment
  • Cool/teal grade, clean and cinematic
  • Minimal text: depth + site name only
  • 15–30s, awe over information

Dive · sharing

  • Talking-head or voiceover + b-roll
  • Hook = the verdict, the number, the myth
  • Punchy text overlays, fast pace, 20–40s
  • Honest > polished. "Worth it / not" energy
  • Save-bait; detail in the caption

Travel + golf + life

  • Fast, music-driven, cuts on the beat
  • Location text on screen, b-roll heavy
  • 15–25s reels; carousels for itineraries
  • Warm, bright grade — the fun is the point
  • One takeaway per post (a stop, a tip, a vibe)

Personal

  • Looser, authentic, lower production is fine
  • Talking to camera like a voice note
  • Real moments > produced ones
  • This is the connection post — let her be human
  • Rare on purpose; make it count

Captions, hashtags, covers

Caption formula

  • Line 1: repeat/expand the on-screen hook
  • Middle: 2–3 lines of value or the story
  • End: one CTA — Save this for your next dive trip / Which island next? ๐Ÿ‘‡
  • Then hashtags (below the fold)

Hashtags (mix sizes, ~8–12, rotate)

#scubadiving#divemalaysia#padi #tiomanisland#pulauweh #malaysiatravel#travelmalaysia #kltravel#cutigetaway#divetravel

A few niche dive, a few travel, a few local MY. Swap sets each post; skip generic mega-tags (#travel, #love) — they bury you.

Covers & the grid

  • Every Reel gets a designed cover: pink, clean, the hook in 3–5 words
  • Consistent style so the profile grid looks intentional
  • Readable as a thumbnail — that's what a new visitor judges

Cadence & timing

  • ~3/week launch push, settle to ~2/week. Batch from the backlog
  • Post evenings (~8–10pm) & weekends — when the KL audience is on
  • Never post and ghost: stay for the first hour

The growth loop

Each pillar does one job. Run them as a loop, not a pile of random posts:

Reach Save Follow repeat

Cinematic dive + strong hooks pull strangers in (reach). Honest guides get saved and shared (save). The real-person posts convert a viewer into a follower (follow). Plus: spend 10 min a day engaging with other MY dive/travel accounts — the community is part of the algorithm.
